Just wanted all to know that I am online and will check any posts that are made on this forum. I will write more about myself and the work Rhyana Blakeley and I hope to do as SYI cochairs as we go along. In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions for us, feel free to put them on this forum.
Thanks, Hamilton

Dear Youth Coordinators

A message of great happiness is my wish. I am back in Ecuador working hard and ready to contribute to Subud in any possible way during the next period of 4 years.

Subud Ecuador is not doing ok, since we don't have many youngsters and the oldies are not in harmony at this time. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that we are purifying and cleaning out some old hard feelings, and I am trying to find a new house to buy. I believe that getting a new house in a better area of the city will help to bring some interested young people to join Subud.
The house we have right now is not in a good area. People had some bad experiences and many members are not very happy with it. It isn't a place to bring new people. It causes lots of disharmony between the members and some new members don't want to go there for latihan.

Let's keep in touch all the time and let's help each other. The Subud World is in our hands and we can do a lot to help it get better and better every day.

lots of love,

Benjamin Garzon

Very Happy

Thanks for the upbeat letter from Ecuador even though the group is struggling. Let us know if there is someway we can help you and the situation there in Quito. Good luck in finding a new place for latihan. I look forward to your continued communication and involvement with the international team of youth coordinators (that includes you).
Gracias a Dios, Hamilton

Dear Hamilton

tomorrow, saturday, we have our national congress in which I will expose the posibility to move to another subud house. There are some good possibilities and the reality is that we might need to get some loan and pay it in a few years. It has to be done with much care so noone feels like we are going to get asfixiated with an difficult obligation. I will also test for the zone 8 youth coordinator. I am willing to help one way or another, nevertheless...

I also heard that there might be a youth gathering this february in Chile. That would be so great. I have to make sure I get enough time and a good budget to go there. Nevertheless, I will be happy to help coordinate and keep in touch.

Let's keep in touch and I will copy this message to your email and Rhyana's, so we can connect faster.

Lost of best of the best wishes,
Benjamin

Dear Subud Youth

Ecuador has some young members, however, they are not very active.

Some of them travel a lot, some don't feel confortable with the old members and some do latihan but don't want to get involved in activities related to the organization.

In total they are about 5 or 6 between the ages 17-35.

I am going to start some interesting programs as the new SICA Ecuador chair in which I will try to find ways for them to participate and give suggestions and ideas.

I don't mind discussing with the oldies.. but I find it difficult to face some old members who have weird ideas or feel that they are right. We have some of them here, and maybe is just a process, who knows, but I feel a great burden sometimes.

Nevertheless, things are getting much organized and I hope to carry out a nice period of Subud life with the energy of youth.

I am in contact with youth co. from Chile, Argentina, Colombia and some young members in other parts in the world. The idea is to keep in touch and always have that communication.

Let's continue this new year with nice and better results.

lots of love,

benjamin garzon
