Today a vulnerability in Subud Life code was utilised to gain access to the mass mailing feature available to admins on the site. The code has been patched. The intruder has not harvested the member details on Subud Life, they have used Subud Life mass mail feature. This feature in no way gives them access to addresses they have sent to.

As stated above by Hamilton don't follow the link that was sent out to you. We apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

This morning, when I clicked onto the site, Norton AV popped up to tell me that it had automatically deleted two trojans!

1. Trojan.Downloader, 2. Trojan.ByteVerify.

"If you get this email don't click on the link or you will get a Trojan!"

You don't have to click on the link in that eMail to download the trojan file, only open the eMail. It is a malicious script so if you do not have "do not save encrypted pages to disk" checked in your browser cache control panel, it will be saved to disk, i.e., downloaded to your browser cache. On my pc (Windows OS), it was saved to my Sun Java applications folder (which is a hidden folder) before it was deleted.

There is at present a problem accessing the forums.

One can post a reply and create new topics in the forums by way of using existing forum threads from the front page (Last Forum Posts).

This will all be resolved as soon as practicable.

I've had three emails from editor@subudlife.com today, saying: "New Private Message has arrived," although my inbox is empty. I presume this is also the hacker?

Again, clicking into the site, Norton has detected and deleted the two trojans. I thought I'd solved the problem earlier by deleteting my temporary internet files.

It seemed ok when I visited the site a few different times earlier today but that was while the computer and internet connection remained on. But I have just returned now after all had been switched off.
