Introduction:
There is some urgency to capture the authentic meaning of the Dayak religion of the indigenous people of Kalimantan via anthropological study, Jungian analysis and comparative religious study.
Justification:
Over the past 30 years the ways of life of the Dayak have been seriously disrupted through the rude exploitation of Kalimantan’s natural resources. The impact of this progress is multi-fold affecting every remote village with TV and Western influence, thus further threatening the native religion.
Urgency:
There is no sign of slowdown, so the need to capture for prosterity these beliefs and practices is urgent before they are lost, become contaminated or degenerate. To capture the essentials may help to retain the spiritual development and continued healing of Kalimantan’s indigenous population.
The Proposal:
1. To undertake an academic study of the Dayak Religion.
2. To apply Jungian Analysis of the symbolic meaning of the rites, festivals, practice and artifacts of this faith.
3. To encourage the continual practice of the faith.
4. To preserve these findings for prosperity.
5. To re-present these findings to the Western World in the form of spiritual guidance in book and tape for those interested in one of the last remaining Shamanic practice and magical ways of thinking.
How:
Initially, this will be achieved through the partnership and joint effort of Bapak Harnadi Ruslan, Anthropologist, and Bapak Shariban Flynn, Clinical Psychotherapist.
The proposal is to produce an explanation of aspects of the Dayak Religion.
The work will involve Email communication between the above partners.
It has been suggested to apply to Subud for seed money to start the work but it is envisaged that the main source of finance will eventually result from publications.
Ruslan’s task is to gather the basic material via interview, observation etc,. (Most of which is in hand.)
He can Email short chapters around certain rituals/artifacts etc,.
Shariban will offer academic reference in the field of psychotherapeutic value and comparative commentary, culminating in papers to be published in the form of short books.
There is still a need to promote marketing of the material produced.
The proceeds from the venture will be equally shared and also help maintain what has served the Dayak people for thousands of years in the treatment of mental illness, such as anxiety states, depression, trauma, abuse and perhaps obsessions. The nature and treatment of mental illness through their own belief system not only needs to be valued but studied to see if there is any techniques etc, need to be retained and given due value among their own people and/or if there are transferable to western culture.

No. Guess the world took my up in another direction- as it was not meant to be ..I guess.
Settled for painting instead.... and following the Astounder- unable to see what is round the next moment.. Wow!
