SICA AGM & CULTURAL GATHERING
May 6-9, 2004, Subud New York Chelsea Center (USA)

Four wings, a head, the members --- but we are all part of the body of Subud. The awakening occurs slowly but certainly. We cannot go on churning in our own little worlds: We are each of us an integral and valuable part of the whole Subud World.

We were seventeen from around the world, meeting for the SICA Annual General Meeting. More importantly, we collaborated with the New York Subud group to bring a cultural event to the Chelsea Subud Center. During the weekend, an art exhibition, creativity workshops and concerts were held. In bringing light through these events, and transforming a space, one of our Subud centers became a Lighthouse. By bringing light to Subud centers around the world through culture and creativity, we can all become Lighthouses, visible in our community....

Subud International Cultural Association OPEN YOUR SENSES

1 - OPEN YOUR EYES UK
THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF EVENTS TO GET YOUR SENSES TINGLING
By Alinah Azadeh
Alinah Azadeh (SICA International) at alinah@nectardigital.com or call +44(0)7712190546

"Culture means that every part of the human body becomes alive, that is, on the outer level of the coarse physical body, on the inner level of the heart and mind and on the innermost level that involves those things that one uses the six senses for (sight, sound, taste, scent, thought and touch), i.e. the seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, thinking and feeling." (Kohar Sillem - Zone 3 executive committee - in response to the project)

SICA Zone 3 (Western Europe) are initiating a series of events based around the six senses as a way of awakening and sharing creative practice within and beyond the Subud community.
Each event will make use of a different sense as a common starting point. Our aim is to create a bridge between the various expressions of our latihan in practice - practical creativity, healing, giving and enterprise, (currently represented by the Wings)and run events where we forget these bridges ever existed. It is also an opportunity to share and open up what we do to the non-Subud community and show our latihan in practice.

Subud International Cultural Association Life on an Island down-under...
Posted by Mitchell
Thursday, March 28, 2002
I write this from my island home here in Australia, with the waves washing the shore and a muggy night sweeping it's way towards the sky. River-lights peek out from houses across the water, cool reflections cast a-glow. A place of peace!

Being new to Subud life, I've no idea if anyone posts up personal articles, but I'm going to stick my neck out and try! Life's full of adventure, and I'm always wondering what other people's lives are like across the seas...

Note: Thanx Mitchell, we need people who are willing to stick their neck out. I don't think visitors understand that they are the content of this website. One person said, "There is nothing on the site." They then realised, "maybe I should write something". To this day they still haven't submitted anything... In Subud, we are all responsible, not just the members with Subud jobs. cheers!!!
